2008 DR650 with many Extras! -
$4,000
I'm selling my 2008 DR650SE.
I'm the second owner, and the bike is in very good shape. It has been
ridden on forest service roads, there are some minor scratches. I put a
lot of money and time into extras to optimize the bike.
Extras include:
-Upgraded suspension. Shock and forks reworked with Race Tech
performance parts at their local shop. The shocks have new springs and
Race Tech Cartridge Emulators, the shock has a new spring and Gold
Valve. The suspension mods transform the bike in the dirt! ~$850
-IMS 4.9 gallon fuel tank. This gives a range of ~250 miles. ~$250
-Pro Moto Billet rear rack. $155
-Procycle carb kit. This addresses the lean condition at low RPMs that
these machines are noted for. It pulls more smoothly at lower rpm. Kit
comes with extended mixture screw. $75
-Case armor. Stainless steel guards that protect the engine case from
rocks or shift or brake lever in the event of a crash. $75
-Procycle "Backside Cleanup" kit. Replaces the bulky stock taillight
with one from a DR250, and replaces the big, ugly "mud flap" license
plate mount with a small, light aluminum one, with LED lights. $90
-Twin Air Air Filter, magnetic drain plug, skidplate.
-Has a Corbin seat. I bought the seat used, it's got some water damage,
but is very comfortable for long rides. I also have the stock seat and
the Suzuki low Gel seat, both in great shape.
-Protaper handle bars and handguards.
-Extra, white side panels (new).
-Tires are Shinko 244s. Rear has less than 1000 miles, about 2000 on the
front. The past rear lasted over 5000. These work well as a 50/50 tire.
This has been a great bike, equally at home on forest service roads,
milder trails and pavement. I have put on 7000 miles this year with
absolutely no mechanical failures. It has 11,2xx miles now.
It's painful to sell her, but I have another bike as well, and am not
finding the time to ride this one. Someone else might as well have fun
with a well prepared bike.
