Meet Location: Laird Park Campground.    Directions:  Hwy. 95 south towards Potlatch, turn left/east on Hwy. 6, then about 13.5 miles turn right/south on Forest Services Road 447, then 1.5 miles to Campground.  Approx. 1 hour 30 min. / 83 miles.

Meet at  10:00 a.m.  Enter Laird Park Campground, turn left towards East Loop and stop at the overflow parkinglot with the yellow baloons. (Later start enables those time to arrive for a just a day ride.)

Ride Off at 10:15 a.m.

Total Miles Satruday Ride:   About 43, all gravel/dirt and no pavement .

Fuel Availability:   In Potlatch (13 miles west)  Take Along? Not necessary

Trail Specifics:

Saturday will be a mix of Forest Service Roads (some equal ‘trail’ conditions) and a 50” trail up to the top of Bald Mountain where the look-out is. We also have a route up on the old forest service road for the over 50” machines.   We will have maps of the area for all too, hence, Sunday we will be looking to do just 50” trail loops. However, for the “over 50 crowd” : ) machines that is : ), the map will show some easy to navigate Forest Service roads that will connect to the loop we will make on Saturday, so folks can go cruise the area as they wish.  One cruise can be over to the Emerald Creek Garnet Dig site, that unfortunately, is closed this year until the Forest Service puts in a new road to haul out more material. We anticpate working in another short 50" loop trail later Satruday afternoon.

Special Requirements: Not for our planned route; however, if you desire to venture off on Potlatch Timber land, yes.  See https://idahoaccess.potlatchdeltic.com/Permits/RecreationalPermits.aspx

Register On-Line: If you do plan to go, please register on the web site, this not only gives us an idea of how many folks are coming, but will help me plan for the Saturday night dinner of BBQ’ed chicken that the club will supply, and the rest will be a potluck side dish of sorts.  And I will check that sign up Wed. eve, as I’m headed down Thursday morning and will not have cell service there.

Campout? Yes, Friday – Sunday at Laird Park Campground. First come/no reservations.  Look for Yellow Ballons at whatever camp site we end up in : )

Option:  The Pines RV Park along Hwy. 6 just about 1-2 miles before/west of the road to Laird Park Campground, it is Pines RV Park.  Only hitch there is that stretch of Hwy. 6 is a 55 mph road, and technically our machines are only to travel on roads 45 mph or less.  So, for those that desire to stay there, perhaps can make the loop in at Laird and drop off machines (may need to pay to do so)…

Saturday Night Dinner:     Club providing smoked chicken; potluck for side dishes.

RSVP how: Register On-line by Noon Wednesday, June  19th, please ??? as there is no cell service at the park.
